About Us

Arnold’s Jewelry opened its doors in June 1973. Wray Greene, a watch repairman and merchant was located at 226 south Washington Street for many years. In December of 1972 Mr. Greene passed away. His widow Jesse Greene, a school teacher, sold the business to Arnold and his wife Freda. Arnold had been employed at Hugh’s jewelry on the square in uptown Shelby for thirteen years. With this opportunity and Arnold’s experience Arnold’s dreams were coming true.

Arnold’s jewelry beginning location, at 226 south Washington street, was shared by Anthony’s real estate and the local united way. In 1975 renovation of the building gave the entire retail space to Arnold’s jewelry.
